I’m not a truck person myself, but I’m curious to hear about which new truck(s) you like the most.

There is one of these running around I often see. Same as this. Really like it.

The obvious answer is the Raptor. However I have the great grandfather of the new Colorado so I have a soft spot for it

GMC Sierra “Elevation Edition”. One of my buddies just bought one for his fiance, it’s a heck of an appearance package.

The upcoming 6.2V8 Colorado.

Failing that, 2.8 Colorado Trail Boss in (Midnight?) Blue.

Whats with Chevy and those low chin spoilers? Assuming elevation means mountains.. that spoiler would get ripped off pretty easy I bet.

For some reason, I can see this being restyled into either a modern Jeep Comanche (being somewhat related to the Jeep Renegade) or a new RAM Dakota.

And there’s a perfectly easy way to do it. It involves moving production into the US and retooling a soon to be vacant factory: Warren Truck Assembly.

By now, everyone knows that FCA is going to move RAM 1500 production from Warren to Sterling Heights once Chrysler 200 production comes to an end.

The same move that will see the Jeep Compass and Patriot’s successor moving from Belvidere, Illinois to Toluca, Mexico (along with Dodge Dart production coming to and end, being replaced by Jeep Cherokee production, starting next year), would be a great opportunity for FCA to bring three products to Warren, allowing it to retain it’s name of Warren Truck Assembly in the process.

Step 1: Move RAM ProMaster production from Saltillo, Mexico (just for the US and Canadian markets, Mexican market ProMasters and Ducatos remain locally built) to Warren, possibly develop a 4X4 version, allowing it to better compete with the M-B/Freightliner Sprinter.

Step 2: Move North American market production of the RAM ProMaster City from Bursa, Turkey to Warren, and introduce a passenger version with three rows of seating under the Fiat brand as well, leaving the ProMaster as a commercial van only.

Step 3: Introduce redesigned tooling of the Toro to Warren to build under either the Jeep or RAM brands, including a RAM version to replace the Mexican market RAM 700 (itself based on a two-decade old platform, while the platform under the Toro is much more modern), regardless if a RAM version is sold in the US and Canada or not.

This would not only save jobs, but also create jobs. RAM has been selling decent numbers of the ProMaster and ProMaster City, but the fact that they’re not US built products is probably keeping them from being as successful as they can be (though being built in Spain hasn’t stopped the Ford Transit Connect, that’s for sure).

It’ll cost FCA money, but it’s money that will go back into the US economy and potentially bring more customers to FCA brand showrooms, which can, in turn, result in sales increases, and a positive return on investment for FCA.

If FCA wants to turn it’s production focus away from cars and to trucks and SUVs, they need to do it right, and this could be the perfect way to do it.

Based on looks, I like the F150 when there’s no chrome involved

Kinja'd!!!

If I were actually buying a new truck, I would get a Tacoma, I don’t want anything bigger, and they hold their value like crazy.

Kinja'd!!!

With an aftermarket grille, of course

The only one I'd buy if I needed a truck, Chevy Colorado Diesel. Ridgeline is close second but it's not a diesel.

if jeep made a short wrangler pick up truck, that would be it........ until then jeep wrangler( the regular short one), or, even though i cant afford one, ford raptor. has the power, has the wheelbase, the options. just dont jump one down a dirt road, and they are great.........
